15/03/2010: Spreading the word
We couldn’t let our 150th anniversary pass without a little bit of fuss!
So over the course of this year, we’ll be making a splash in our communities and on the airwaves. This is all part of our celebration campaign which has, at its core, a big heartfelt thank you to our customers for building the Society we are today.
We’ve been working with Cardiff-based creative agency, Elevator, to encapsulate our key messages and roll these out across Wales.
The starting point was the creation of an anniversary logo and strapline. We think that ‘150 years at the heart of Wales’ sums us up to a tee.
Out of this was borne our celebratory microsite - a website dedicated to the past and to the future. We hope it proves to be a great source of information about our heritage, both as a Society and as a country. It’s a place where people can read about some of the significant Welsh events of the last century and a half, and about the memories of a few of our long standing customers and members of staff.
The site also gives information about the community projects planned for 2010 and details of how to get involved.
And we’re not just using the web to spread our anniversary message. It will feature on huge outdoor banners, on buses, on the radio and TV and in newspapers. We’ll even be taking the message to all of our regular haunts this summer – the Royal Welsh Show in July and the National Eisteddfod in August.
Elevator’s Steve Braham said “This campaign is all about celebrating Principality’s longevity. We wanted to create something which not only complemented the Society’s brand but which put its 150 years of success into context. That’s where the message of thanks comes in.”
So we’ll be shouting a big diolch! from the rooftops. Because we’re incredibly proud to be where we are today and it’s down to you, our members. Come and celebrate with us.
