Big Birthday Giveaway

Big Birthday Giveaway Winners Announced!

After weeks of deliberations, the Principality Judging panel, consisting of a number of representatives from across the business, have whittled down the Big Birthday Giveaway shortlist and chosen the winning projects from each of the five regions in Wales – South, North, Mid, East and West.

The winning projects were chosen from over 160 applications received from all over Wales as community organisations and charity projects looked to stake a claim in our £25,000 birthday gift to Wales.

Designed as a key part of the building society’s 150th anniversary celebrations, the Big Birthday Giveaway will provide a vital cash injection to the winning community schemes or charities, allowing them to kick-start, complete or continue their good work that will make a real difference to the communities in which Principality serves.

Each of the winning projects were chosen for the way in which their projects reflect the Society’s own values as well as the positive impact that they have on their local communities.

Commenting on the winners, Graeme Yorston, Chief Operating Officer at Principality Building Society, said: “The Big Birthday Giveaway has had huge success and narrowing down the entries to a shortlist of three in each region was a difficult job, given the number of worthwhile applications we received.

"Choosing the winners for each region was even more difficult, but I am confident that the winning projects that we've selected will all use our financial support to significantly benefit their local communities.

“Principality has been serving communities up and down Wales for 150 years and to offer our support to these five projects that truly benefit their communities is the perfect way to say Diolch! Thank you for building our Society in our 150th anniversary year.”
